Description

This recipe hails all the way from Germany! A delicious, nutty, melt in your mouth cookie that is a perfect Christmas addition to your dessert table. Recipe makes about 64 cookies.

  1. Place hazelnuts into a food processor and finely chop them up. Set aside for now.

  2. In main mixing bowl, add sugar, butter and mix. 

  3. Separate out the egg yolks from the egg whites and add only the egg yolks to your main mixing bowl.

  4. Add 2 packets of vanilla flavored sugar and mix.

  5. Add finely chopped hazelnuts to main mixing bowl and mix.

  6. Sift in flour and mix in slowly. 

  7. Wrap dough and place in the fridge to rest for 1 hour. 

  8. Preheat oven to 350˚F (175˚C). 

  9. Lay a sheet of parchment on your baking tray. Make walnut size balls of cookie dough with your hands. Then roll it into a cylinder shape and bring the edges together make the letter "C". Place on cookie sheet. 

  10. Bake for 11-13 minutes.

  11. Let cookies cool for a few mins on a cooling rack or plate. 

  12. Sift powdered sugar over cookies! :-) Enjoy!
