Special Baking Equipment Needed
What We'll Do
-
Step 1
For this step you'll need:
Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C). In a separate bowl, add your wheat flour, ground cinnamon and salt. Mix and set aside for now.
-
Step 2
For this step you'll need:
Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C).
In your main mixing bowl, add your egg, homemade peanut butter and pureed pumpkin in and mix. Be sure to use pureed pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling. If you are going to use store bought peanut butter, make sure it doesn't contain Xylitol. Having a mixer is optional for this recipe as this cookie dough can be mixed by hand with a spatula.
-
Step 3
For this step you'll need:
- Premixed Dry Ingredients From Step 1
Add your 3 premixed dry ingredients (wheat flour, ground cinnamon, salt) into your main mixing bowl, 1/4 cup at a time and mix in between. If you add it all at once, you will get blasted with flour to the face! :-)
-
Step 4
For this step you'll need:
Rub some wheat flour on a clean surface and place your dough on the floured surface. Make sure to also rub some wheat flour on your rolling pin. Roll out the dough to about 1/4" thick. This is a sticky dough so feel free to use a lot of wheat flour to keep it from sticking to the table and your rolling pin.
-
Step 5
For this step you'll need:
- Autumn Cookie Cutters
- Your Hands :-)
Pick your favorite autumn cookie cutter and cut out your cookies from your rolled out dough. Remove the cookies and place them on your cookie sheet covered in parchment paper, roll up the left over dough into a ball, re-flour the surface and repeat steps 4 and 5.
-
Step 6
For this step you'll need:
Place parchment paper on a tray and lay your cookies out on top of the parchment. These cookies won't expand at all so don't worry about putting them close together.
-
Step 7
For this step you'll need:
- Your Oven :-)
Bake your cookies for about 35-40 minutes in your preheated oven 350˚F (175˚C).
-
The Best Part!
For this step you'll need:
- Your Cute Pup :-)
After your cookies have cooled down completely, go ahead and let your pup try one. These pumpkin cookies are a perfect autumn treat that are full of healthy fiber for your pup. I hope your pup likes it! :-)
