Old Fashioned Tea Cookies

Description

These cookies are soft and slightly sweet that pair perfectly with a warm cup of tea. Makes 48 cookies.

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 375˚F (190˚C).

  2. In main mixing bowl, add eggs, softened butter, vanilla extract, white sugar and mix until smooth.

  3. Sift in slowly flour, salt, baking powder and mix until smooth.

  4. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Scoop 2 tablespoons of cookie dough (about the size of a walnut) and roll in white sugar. Place the dough balls 2 inches apart on the prepared tray.

  5. Coat the bottom of the glass in butter and then dip it into a small bowl filled with white sugar. Gently stamp each cookie with the glass. Dip cup into sugar bowl between each stamp so every cookie is evenly coated with sugar.

  6. Bake for 8 minutes.

  7. Remove from baking tray at once and transfer to wire rack to cool. Let cookies cool before enjoying. :-)
