What We'll Do
-
Step 1
For this step you'll need:
First, pre-heat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C). Then, blend the shortening and the 2 sugars together until creamy. Having a mixer is optional for this recipe as this cookie dough can be mixed by hand with a spatula.
-
Step 2
-
Step 3
For this step you'll need:
Grab your sifter and place it over your mixing bowl. Add your flour into it. Holding your sifter, gently tap the side of it and make it snow! :-)
-
Step 4
For this step you'll need:
Add the Cream Of Tarter, Salt, Baking Soda and Vanilla on top of the flour.
-
Step 5
For this step you'll need:
- Spatula
- Mixer (optional)
Before turning on the mixer to full blast, gently mix the ingredients with a spatula by hand before turning on your machine. This way, you won't get blasted with flour to the face! If you don't have a mixer, just keep mixing it by hand with your spatula. :-)
-
Step 6
For this step you'll need:
Add the Chocolate Chips in last and continuing mixing until the chips are spread out evenly through the dough.
-
Step 7
For this step you'll need:
- Your Hands
Grab about 2 big tablespoons of your cookie dough and roll them into balls. (About a little bit bigger than a walnut are great sizes.)
-
Step 8
For this step you'll need:
Pour your white sugar in a medium bowl and roll your cookie balls around in the sugar to completely coat them before putting them on your cookie sheets.
-
Step 9
For this step you'll need:
- Cookie Sheet
- 1 Sheet Of Parchment Paper
- Your Oven :-)
Place a sheet of baking parchment paper on a cookie sheet and separate your cookie balls to be about 2" (5cm) apart. These cookies don't spread that much. I found that 12 fit comfortably on my 17" baking tray. Bake for 15 mins in your preheated oven 350˚F (175˚C).
-
Step 10
For this step you'll need:
If you have a cooling rack, place your cookies on the cooling rack and let them cool for a few minutes. Tinfoil on the counter top or a plate will work as well. :-)
-
The Best Part!
For this step you'll need:
- Your Appetite :-)
After a few minutes, grab a tall glass a milk and a plate on your cookies and enjoy your hard work. :-)
