Chocolate Chip Sugar Cookies

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C).

  2. In your main mixing bowl, blend the shortening, white sugar and brown sugar together until creamy. 

  3. Add egg and vanilla extract and keep mixing until smooth.

  4. Sift in the flour, cream of tartar, salt, baking soda and mix.

  5. Stir in chocolate chips by hand and continuing mixing until the chips are spread out evenly in the dough.

  6. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Scoop 2 tablespoons of cookie dough (about the size of a walnut) and roll in white sugar. Place the dough balls 2 inches apart on the prepared tray.

  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes.

  8. Let cookies cool before enjoying. :-)
