Directions

  1. Step 1

    For this step you'll need:

Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C). In a separate bowl, add your Oat Flour, Brown Rice Flour and Ground Cinnamon. Mix and set aside for now.

  2. Step 2

    For this step you'll need:

In your main mixing bowl, add your Homemade Unsweetened Applesauce, Honey, 1 Egg and Water and mix.  If you are going to use store bought Applesauce, make sure it is unsweetened. Having a mixer is optional for this recipe as this cookie dough can be mixed by hand with a spatula.

  3. Step 3

    For this step you'll need:

    • Premixed Dry Ingredients From Step 1

Add your 3 premixed dry ingredients (Oat flour, Brown Rice Flour, Ground Cinnamon) into your main mixing bowl, 1/4 cup at a time and mix in between. If you add it all at once, you will get blasted with flour to the face! :-)

  4. Step 4

    For this step you'll need:

Add your Rolled Oats and mix into your dough.

  5. Step 5

    For this step you'll need:

Rub some Whole Wheat Flour on a clean surface and place your dough on the floured surface. Make sure to also rub some wheat flour on your rolling pin. Roll out the dough to about 1/4" thick. This is a sticky dough so feel free to use more wheat flour to keep it from sticking to the table and your rolling pin.

  6. Step 6

    For this step you'll need:

Pick your favorite small Cookie Cutters and cut out your cookies from your rolled out dough. Remove the cookies and place them on your cookie sheet covered in parchment paper, roll up the left over dough into a ball, re-flour the surface and repeat steps 5 and 6.

  7. Step 7

    For this step you'll need:

Place a Sheet Of Parchment Paper on a Cookie Sheet and lay your cookies out on top of the parchment. These cookies won't expand at all so don't worry about putting them close together.

  8. Step 8

    For this step you'll need:

    • Your Oven :-)

Bake your cookies for about 20-25 minutes in your preheated oven 350˚F (175˚C).

  9. Step 9

    For this step you'll need:

If you have a Cooling Rack, place your cookies on the cooling rack and let them cool for a few minutes. Tinfoil on the counter top or a plate will work as well.

  10. The Best Part!

    For this step you'll need:

    • Your Cute Pup :-)

After your cookies have cooled down completely, go ahead and let your pup try one. These apple sauce oatmeal cookies are a perfect side kick to some delicious homemade unsweetened apple sauce for your pup. I hope your pup likes it! :-)
